Gretchen Lee
Bourquin
My passion for writing began when I was a young child. I read and wrote every chance
I got, mostly fiction and poetry. I majored in Literature/Creative Writing in college.
During college I also was married, had two kids, and got divorced.

While I always wrote, pursuing writing professionally did not seem practical as a
single
parent. Instead I worked in Customer Service and Office Administration in a number of
areas. Since the mid-nineties I have worked in retail and grocery,  with
developmentally disabled adults, at a financial firm, a newspaper circulation call
center, and an online university. I also published a novel,
No Sensible People, and a
poetry collection,
The Long and Short of It.

Now, with my kids in college, I apply that knowledge, as well as what I learned as a
parent and literary enthusiast to my freelancing. My hobbies (other than
writing)
include reading, jewelry making, walking, biking, watching movies, and
listening to
music.

Many examples of my work can be found online on websites such as
Gather.com,
Yahoo Voices, and for sale on Constant Content. I also work frequently at various
other websites which provide web content.
